Hello, and welcome to my blog site! My name’s Simon Keegan-Phipps (the title of the site is not a coincidence), and I’m a lecturer in ethnomusicology in the Department of Music at the University of Sheffield.  Here you’ll find information about (e.g.) my publications, research projects, other activities I’m involved in, as well as my general musings on SKPbanjo1ethnomusicology, teaching about music in Higher Education, and perhaps one or two things about my particular musical passions: English folk music and straight-ahead jazz.

The whole thing is rather new and a work in progress, so do bear with me…
